I have often tried to picture the Hirondel. It's a nice idea, for Volvo to embrace the Hirondel name and to continue in the world of roadsters. Can you pin the Hirondel on Volvo though? We saw Simon drive many different cars in the earlier films. After the P1800 we saw Ogilvy return to Jags (after Lois Haywards 1950's excursion), then later Simon Dutton had a Jensen, before Kilmer resurrected the Volvo association. Back in the early 90's I saw a Dutch registered Matra two seater. I extrapolated what it might look like if merged with the then contemporary Volvo's, I think that would have been your Hirondel after 20 years of evolution. Two years later Volvo brought out a sporty car not too dissimilar to my Hirondel. Since I don't recognize the car on the right I assume that is your early 70's Hirondel.
