Designed, engineered and created prototype tooling and production tooling. Designed, engineered, prototyped and manufactured composite structures with the Scrimp process, RTM, VARTM, Compression Molding, Hand Lay-up, Spray-up, Pultrusion, Vacuum Forming, Blow Molding and Injection Molding. Developed several specialized composite molding processes for various composite structural applications. Developed in-field composite repair processes and trained personnel to make patterns, tooling and run production processes.
Experience:
2001-2003 VS Composites, LLC – CEO
www.automotivecomposites.com and www.ecolectrictechnology.com
Managing a corporation that specializes in advanced composite materials for military applications aboard Naval cargo ships. $50 million contract program management. Research, development and manufacturing in composite pultrusions, polymer concretes and resin infusion processes. The company designs, engineers, prototypes and develops advanced composite material based structures with a proprietary revolutionary new No-VOC, No-HAP Fire-Retardant resin system. Additional developments include a new fire-retardant polymer concrete formulation. Developed “retrofitable” Hybrid Electric System called the “Electrocharger™” that allows any vehicle to be made into a mild hybrid.
1997-2001 Automotive Design and Composites, Ltd. – CEO
www.automotivecomposites.com
Founded and managed a corporation that specialized in developing hybrid-electric drivetrains, electric drivetrains, novel powertrains and advanced composite material based automobiles and buses from the ground up. The company had contracts in developing advanced composite materials and resin infusion processes with the People’s Republic of China, DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Tank Automotive Armaments Command (US Army) and Conoco Inc., to name a few. The company was showcased in many national and international magazines for the achievements in the use of thermoplastics and composites.
1994-1997 Ibex Automotive Design and Engineering, Inc. – President
