Mechanical Designer 2006-present
Responsible for:
•Generating technical solutions through designs and concept sketches related to prototype machine and system construction
•Communicating the solutions to the engineering design group, and if required, to technical personnel and manufacturing
•R&D activities
•Superior 3D CAD design skills (SolidWorks 2006 + previous versions, Inventor R9 + previous versions, AutoCAD 2007 + previous versions)

- Review requests for quotations from customers with the Applications Supervisor.
- Participate in customer RFQ review meetings, either on-site at the customer or in-house.
- Prepare cell layout drawings for the various RFQ’s.
- Liaise between mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and assembly manufacturing groups for technical assistance in developing concepts and processes and provide assistance in estimating labor and material costs to meet customer requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain estimates of major material and equipment costs required for the preparation of budgets and proposals.
- Prepare draft budget and quotation proposals for review with the Applications Supervisor, the Sales Manager and Key Account Managers.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all tools (software and hardware) used by the Sales Group and by the Engineering Department.
- Carry out work in accordance with work standards and procedures in a timely manner, satisfying commitments and planned milestones.

Designshelter Inc.,
CANADA
Mechanical Designer 2005-2006
Responsible for creating innovative products that improved the existing structures. Design, prototype and test the viability of new creations. Work on all aspects of launching a new category of portable shelter systems including structure design, material selection, prototype design, failure mode analysis, and field trial and production start-up. Designed new products to improve the usage of shelter systems (portable sinks, internal facilities, transport and storage cases) Redesigned the actual structures to improve flexibility and update the presentation of products for a greater maneuverability and modernity Created new walk - through and stand alone vestibules that facilitated the creation and control of positive and negative pressure inside the shelter Redesigned cover, roof and insulation systems FEA analysis for parts, subassemblies , assemblies and whole structures Hands on experience achieved by shelter units assembling for an in depth knowledge of product Presented exhibited products at national shows .

Teaching Assistant (PhD started in Industrial Design) 2003-2004
Responsible for teaching students the following courses: Creativity Techniques and Digital Imaging Editing at the Product Design and Robotics Chair. Evaluated students during exams period, provided directions, help and know-how to students in their projects development. Prepared courses and lab materials for the supervising professor.
•Started a PhD program at Product Design and Robotics chair; the them of the PhD program is: “Mathematical analysis and synthesis of exterior shapes”, and the name of the thesis, approved by the faculty council on 17.11.2003 is: “Modern methods of quantification in vehicles shape analysis and synthesis”.
•Taught Creativity Techniques and Digital Imaging Editing courses at 6th and 7th terms students (150 students) in Industrial Design Faculty.
•Evaluated students during exams.
•Evaluated students’ projects, term projects, final projects or degree projects.
•Developed the Digital Imaging Editing laboratory after winning a research governmental project.
•Developed a Product Design R&D lab and implemented the following software: AutoCAD 2004, SolidWorks 2004, Inventor 9, CATIA P3 V5R12, Photoshop 7, Microsoft Picture It! 7.
TRACTORUL UTBv Brasov, Romania
2000 – 2003
The biggest tractors maker company in the whole Eastern Europe, Tractorul UTBv has contracts in more than 20 countries around the world and 3600 employees. The company produces tractors with 3 and 4 cylinders diesel engine that covers a large range of powers starts with 36HP until 110HP. The Italian company Landini Spa., became interested in Tractorul UTBv and started the acquisition process in 2003.
Design Engineer
2000 – 2003
Design engineer at Diesel Engine Department, Product R&D Department, which is the most important department in the company. Responsible for designing new diesel engines concepts, redesigning and improving the actual engines. Assigned to design, develop, test new products and to implement new design techniques. Developed an informational network using engineering software and created better connections between departments.
•Created constructive assemblies of medium and high complexity.
•Created CAD drawings of medium and high complexity.
•Informed the project’s supervisor and the department head about the parts’ development process, during the different stages of design, execution and probation.
•Plotted and calculated summaries, tasks sheets, special reports, provided technical assistance during the execution process, self improvement in CAD-CAM processes.
•Created presentations of new products, documents and graphic imagines.
•Provided assistance in engine trials and created new products presentation documents and implemented commercial ideas for presentations at national auto shows.
