Jerry: Thank you for the critique. I was going to go with a grey background on the Saturn sketches but I felt that would be a bit too much grey. However, I believe you are right, the red is a bit too distracting.

I have improved much since I posted my first sketches here. I took some time away from this site in 2003 so that I could continue to refine my skills. That explains the sudden jump in my skill level. I will be posting many more sketches within the next month.

Francois: I didn't use any markers at all on the Hummer and Saturn sketches, I used adobe Photoshop to render them. The line work was done using a BIC ballpoint pen.

Thank you for your input.

hey cp,

just checked out some of your work. first, as a critique, the sketches of the saturn and hummer are really good. however, the background for the saturn is somewhat distracting which competes for attention with the actual sketches. so, when compiling your sketches on a presentation board, the background should really be used as a tool to either give the sketch greater context and scale(i.e. mountains, people) or to keep the image from looking like its floating in white space. a good shadow can help prevent that. i just looked through maybe two years of your work and can say that your style of drawing is starting to come through. very quick and loose with just the right amount of detail for a concept sketch. your eye for perspective is being refined as well.

let the sketches take all the limelight.

keep up the good work!

Excellent sketches, Christopher!
I like very much your work.
What markers do you use to realize the sketches?

Greetings from the Phantom!!!

========================================

:) I saw that comment about Mr. Phantom Panther

Cris Powels isnt Phantom Panther
Jonathan Griffin is Phantom Panther

Sorry, but it made me laugh(that comment).

Phantom Panther doesn't draw much on paper.
========================================

Interestign design. Better than most car designers can do.

It looks like you used some aerodynamic principles, but you forgot to research them fully. Your curved underside of the car would have been good if you added a side skirt. With it as is, you'll get air rushing in from the sides, and actually get upwards lift in the back. Ground effects work best when you minimise lateral air flow.

I'm entering the student category. Good luck :)

I really appreciate the Reno. I especially like its two colors blue and white-grey, and also its sportive and very modern design.
